Statement
Slippages and blips in our routine existence are of great interest to me; phenomena and occurrences that go unnoticed, are easily passed by or quickly forgotten. Moments of reality, shifts in context and the subtleties within these ideas form a significant focus, and the notion of fascination is a major preoccupation within my work.

Using video footage, found images and text, I work in an intentionally simple and economic way. Employing various devices to unhook or disconnect material from its usual surroundings, it is then re-presented to the viewer. Through this process of disjunction and by re-focussing the viewer’s attention, my work attempts to make that which has disappeared into its ordinariness visible again.

The act of collecting images, text and video footage represents my own subjectivity in relation to the material that I use. There is an uncanny dimension to this aspect of my practice, within the choice of material, and is where my subjectivity is evident.
